Today was the first day of my clinical rotation for this semester. I am working with the same preceptor that I was with last semester for my prescriber hours last semester. I really enjoy working with her; she is very easy to talk to, ask questions, etc. She also talks me through every decision she makes so that I can hear and understand her thought process. I am looking forward to getting to spend more time working with her this semester.
My preceptor was telling me about different resources that she utilizes, and she brought up NEI. I told her that we utilize it in our program, and she encouraged me to check out the NEI Congress that is happening in November. I wanted to bring this up, because as student members, we can attend the simulcast version of it for free! Here is the link for registering: https://www.neiglobal.com/Default.aspx?TabId=147

At my clinical site, I try to get to know the staff working in the clinic. The front desk staff has been accommodating in assisting me in navigating the electronic medical record and getting all the needed paperwork for each client. Last semester, I used to bring donuts just as a thank you for what they do. I felt like they appreciated it. Sometimes it could be difficult for preceptors and sites to take in a student in a busy clinic. That’s why I try to bring things in to make their day a little smoother.
