The 2010 Supreme Court decision in the “Citizens United v. FEC” case opened the door to unlimited outside election spending by corporations and unions. Using outside spending data from www.opensecrets.org analyze how outside election spending has changed since this case. Some questions to address include: who gives money? What issues recieve the most money? How has this changed over time? How does outside spending compare to direct spending on political campaigns?
