This week, you will use the Selected team members (from the Interactive media piece) to address leadership styles and approaches. Select one of the four options for the discussion which may ask you to apply readings, use new skills, identify outside resources, reflect on how the content applies to you, or give you an opportunity to talk about what interests you most. Choose one to respond to this week.
1. Imagine that you are thinking about passing on your leadership role to another team member. Consider the team you have selected and identify who stands out as a potential leader in the group. In what way could this person’s emotional intelligence strengths benefit them as a leader? In what way could their “blindspot†hinder success?
2. Think about the different leadership styles discussed this week. Review the emotional intelligence attributes of the four members you selected for the team. What leadership style might be most conducive to leading this group? Are there any styles that you think should be avoided based on your team selections?
3. Locate an outside resource (image, video, article, research study, recording) that reflects your interest or experience of effective leadership and health care, and insert or link it in your post. Why did you pick this item to share and how might it be used to assist with leadership and the team you selected?
4. What did you find to be of most interest about this week’s content or the interactive media piece related to leadership and its relevance to your professional development and/or academic journey?
