Basically, strengths are things the organization does well; weaknesses are things the organization needs to improve; opportunities are directions or alternative strategies the organization might pursue; and, threats are internal or external concerns that may harm effectiveness. Learning organizations are organizations that systematically measure their performance against sound criteria and metrics and take concrete actions to change and make improvements.
