One of our learning topics is “Creativity” and the final portion of that outcome area is to explore the role of creativity in your field of study, or in your case, your area of concentration. You have developed both a general understanding of creativity in a wide variety of traditional creative disciplines, and a more in-depth knowledge in both literature and another specific traditional creative discipline. Ideally these experiences have given you an understanding of the nature of creativity, enabled you to develop a working vocabulary to discuss creativity, and some ability to critique a creative product produced by yourself and others.
1. As part of this assignment you are to turn your “trained eye” on the specific area of concentration you have chosen. First, research the role of creativity in your area of concentration using a minimum six professional resources. 2. Then reflect on your experiences in creativity and how they have, or have not, prepared you to engage in the level of creativity needed to be successful in your chosen area of concentration. 3. As part of your reflection, consider a specific instance in which you will have to use your understanding of creativity. Design a innovative project that is an appropriate response to that creative challenge. And make a plan to implement that project. 4. Lastly reflect on that specific project in the light of the creative process. How will you use the creative process to design and implement the project? 5. This Research Project/ Reflection should consist or no less than 2000 words, include both in-text and bibliographic citations, and be complete in scope and function. This project will be assessed using the combined Creativity (Advanced), and Critical Thinking (Advanced) rubrics.
