2) PEER REVIEW #2 (HEATHER)
Hola Class,
I’ve had my run with alcohol in my day. I’ve gotten two OVI’s. Therefore, I’m going to choose the alcohol. Some of the top states that drink the most alcohol are not as populated areas like South Dakota, Idaho, Alaska, Wisconsin…with 30% driving fatality death rate in just the United States alone. More that 15 million people struggle with an alcohol related disorder, but less than 8% go for treatment. During the prohibition time period, it was acting like how Marijuana is now. It’s basically the big pharmaceuticals not making enough money, so they’re trying to keep marijuana illegal. Alcohol is completely different from it. The side effects are the polar opposites. I’m all for having a couple beer or drinks here and there. The abusers are making it more difficult to go out and drink. This is why I stay at home, if I do. No, I don’t think that alcohol needs to be illegal, but I do think the consumption age should be at 25 and up. 21, the brain is still growing some. 25, in Ohio, you can rent a car, make sure your credit is okay, more of an adulting life. Maybe ID’s can have a better test strip, like the $100 has, to make sure that the person isn’t falsifying an identification to get booze.
3) PEER REVIEW #2 (FELICIA)
Although all three products cause a health risk to consumers, I choice cigarettes which I believe to be the most deadly of the three. I have witnessed first hand the aftermath of long term cigarette smoking my Dad cannot speak today because he had stage 4 cancer of the Larynx and had to have his vocal box removed. Cigarettes should be banned because of the cancer risk to consumers. I think it is very unethical for a company to knowingly manufacture a product they know kills people, tobacco kills 5-6 million people annually. Consumers could save lots of money if cigarettes were banned and decrease their chances of getting cancer. Smokers also put non-smokers at risk with secondhand smoke.
